Gladman Homes wanted to develop three fields between Peppard Road and Kiln Road but had exhausted every option in its efforts to overturn the refusal of planning permission.

South Oxfordshire District Council’s decision was upheld on appeal by planning inspector Nick Palmer and in February the High Court refused a request by Gladman to overturn that ruling.

Last week, the company was granted a final oral hearing at which it outlined its reasons why the case should be heard. However, the court again concluded this was pointless as there was no prospect of success.
