Village Communities
The Kidmore End Parish Council (KEPC) which set up the KEPC website, have a statutory requirement to provide information and support for the whole parish community. Understandability, most of the output from the website, until now, has been focused on the business and activities of the local parish council with little or no opportunity for more engagement with the local communities across the parish.
To help improve communications not only with the parish council but across all the 5 village communities of Cane End, Chalkhouse Green, Gallowstree Common, Kidmore End and Tokers Green, the site now provides individual sections for each community to build and share their own activities and help foster a more cooperative parish community.
To help build your own Village Community Index, some samples of how activities can be set up and illustrated have been provided, depending on your own activities and events list, with Tokers Green section demonstrating what your village section could look like. Below each activity or event are three buttons – Contact (for that activity or event) | Info (which is all about the history of background of an activity) and Gallery (images of all activities & events over time).
Tokers Green have a communications person into which locals can feed content to go directly onto the website. We are looking for individuals from each village to take on this role, with access rights to the KEPC website, but where all content is monitored and confirmed by the KEPC webmaster.
